I collaborated with my sister, Amanda, on a art piece for the Jockey Club’s website “Followhorseracing.com” centered around the Kentucky Derby. I decided to make an oracle which highlighted the horses with their different qualities and illustrate each one with their markings. Here is the result! http://www.followhorseracing.com/en/the-latest/blogs/2013/04/28/kentucky-derby-the-contenders/I really love what Amanda came up with the text on the Tarot cards- they are spot on if you’ve followed the horses. I’m still not sure who will win, and one of the horses on the chart isn’t running (Govenor Charlie) but I could swear the painting of “It’s my LuckyDay” winked at me, though I was putting in late hours to finish the art and it could have just been that my eyes were bleary.

Guess who’s got NYRA credentials? And why, you ask? Well, keep your seat belts buckled- because on Feb. 17, 2013 a new project I’m working will debut on America’s Best Racing, the official website of the NTRA (National Thoroughbred Racing Association) and The Jockey Club (the authority for all thoroughbred race horses in North America). I’m working with a real insider and talented writer on this and it’s been such fun to create.

Anyone who knows me well knows that the first art I ever made was of race horses, so I’m extremely honored to be working on this new series. I’ll be putting up more details about this soon, and I hope you’ll love it as much as I do.

DUMBO ART FEST 2012

It’s that time of the year again! DUMBO Art Fest 2012 is happening next weekend, Sept 29/30 for open studios. I’ll be there with candy corn and some sort of beverages to share, so come on by and say hello. Feast your eyes on some very new work, as well as a bunch of never seen before gems from years past.

My studio is located right smack dab in the center of DUMBO, in the “peas and pickles” and gallery building at 55 Washington, 3rd floor. I’ll be there Saturday and Sunday, noon-6 pm.

See you there!

Also, Possum Paint Studio, my teaching program, is also having an open house too- which means there will be an art table and drawing supplies set up for any kids who wander in…
